Family & Childhood

Jaden is the second child of Vivian and Jamie Newman (neé Gonzalez), of Puerto Rican origin. Jaden has a three years older brother named Julian, who has been named one of the most sought-after basketball prodigies of his generation.

Both Jamie and Vivian were avid basketball players during their youth. However, they took different career paths later in life, as Vivian enlisted in the US Navy and Julian studied history and became a high school teacher.

Though Julian has already matriculated from high school, Jaden is currently in her Junior year at Downey Christian School, attended by both her and her brother since primary school. Jaden is set to matriculate in 2023.

Career

First Steps

Jaden Newman started her career very early in life, when she was still attending primary school. At eight years old, Jaden started playing in her school’s varsity division, an incredible accomplishment at her age.

In 2014 Jaden Newman was contacted by Derrick Gibbs – assistant coach of the basketball program of the University of Miami – who informed her and her family of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) interest in recruiting her as part of its prestigious but demanding Division I, based in Florida.

Besides including a generous scholarship for Jaden, the University’s offer consisted of Jaden assisting summer programs at their facilities, which were visited by Jaden soon after receiving the recruitment letter: ‘I thought I was in a dream or something, but it was real, and then we went on the campus and we took a tour and stuff, and we saw the gym. It was fun’.

Thrilled about Jaden becoming one of the youngest athletes to ever be recruited by a University’s basketball program, her family welcomed the news. However, Jaden didn’t accept the program’s offer, as her dream is to attend the University of Connecticut and be part of its basketball team the UConn Huskies.

The interest in Jaden – who at the time averaged 14.8 points per game – was caused by her talent. Her incredible abilities were showcased by the media in light of her own brother’s fame, who took the attention of the sport media at an early age as well.

Following Years

When it comes to basketball, Jaden’s teens were as successful for her as it was her childhood. Her father Jamie, – who is also her and her brother’s coach – has been very focused on training his children, and has been in charge of helping them to develop their inherent abilities.

Due to this, Jaden Newman’s basketball numbers improved with the pass of time. In her last year of primary school, she averaged 30 points per game and by eighth grade she scored 45 points. In preparatory she also became the youngest school basketball player to accumulate 1,000 points in her career, a record set by her own brother shortly before her.

At 14 years old, Jaden set another record by scoring 70 points in a game, showing her prowess at 3-point shootings.

Advertisem*nt

Regarding this milestone in her still-young career, Jaden told ESPN about feeling ‘in the zone’ since the start of the game: ‘Right off the bat, to start the game, I made a 3. That was the first play of the game. That built my confidence’.

Plans for the Future

In the 2019 interview with High Posts Hoops, Jaden Newman revealed she has been receiving several recruitment offers from University programs. However, her dreams fo playing at Connecticut are still alive and strong.

Beside this, Jaden wants to enjoy her time at high school as much as she can, despite the high expectations put on her: ‘Every year, the competition gets more and more competitive. It’s just fun for me. I love playing high school basketball.’

She also talked about the media attention on her, which has put pressure on her over the years due to the fact she’s often recognized by fans in her everyday life: ‘Now, mostly people know who I am, sometimes I wish that no one knew who I was. But I like it most of the time.’

Jaden and her brother are close to each other, as both siblings always show their fraternal love for each other through their social media accounts. However, when it comes to the basketball court, their competitive side always comes to play, and it’s not clear who is the best player out of them: ‘he wins some, I win some. I’d say (it’s) even’.

Media Appearances

Jaden Newman’s talent at playing basketball has not only attracted the attention of sport’s fans, but also from the media, and she’s appeared several times on TV.

When she was only nine years old, she made a brief appearance in “The Queen Latifah Show”, where she outplayed host Queen Latifah and surprised the program’s audience with her outstanding talent.

Then in 2015 she recorded a TV commercial for Foot Locker, along with Stephen Curry from the State Warriors. In the video ad she easily defeats the professional basketball player in a 3-point shooting competition.

Other types of media such as papers and online channels have cast their eyes on Jaden as well. In 2016 she was showcased by the YouTube channel Peaco*ck Kids – in the video shared by the online outlet, Jaden showed her training routine: ‘I trained about 5 to 6 hours a day. I would wake up at 5:30 in the morning and I work-out dribbling and shooting,’ she continued, saying she’s had this routine everyday for years.

In 2019 Jaden and her brother Julian appeared on the online series “No Days Off”, produced by Whistle. Also that year, Jaden and her family started appearing in their own TV series “Hello Newmans”, produced by Overtime.

Personal Life

Information about Jaden Newman’s personal life and romantic partners is unknown, as she decides to keep these details out of the spotlight.

Net Worth

Jaden Newman has an estimated net worth of close to $100,000 as of late 2020. This is a result of her media appearances, as she still hasn’t signed any professional basketball contract.

Physical Appearance

Jaden Newman is a young woman of mixed ethnicity. She has gorgeous facial features and is athletically built. Her weight is unknown, and although she’s only 5ft 4ins (1.65m) tall, this has not affected her ability at playing basketball.

Advertisem*nt

Interesting Facts

Allegedly her parents control her social media accounts – her mother Vivian is her manager.

Although her average points at basketball are impressive, she wants people to focus on other aspects of her play, such as defense and passing.

Her family has a clothing brand name Prodigy, which has helped them to afford a comfortable lifestyle and serves as a retribution for the money media have allegedly profited out of the family, as Jamie Newman told Bleacher Report: ‘If we had 10 cents for every dollar people have made off Julian and Jaden we’d be rich’.

Unfortunately, Jaden receives many wrongly intended messages and requests on her Instagram account: ‘I like having a lot of followers, but the downside is guys who say weird or gross stuff. I mostly try to ignore it’.

Who is Jimbo Fisher?

American college football coach and former American Football player John James ‘Jimbo’ Fisher Jr. was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia USA, on 9 October 1965, making Libra his zodiac sign. He’s perhaps known best for the years which he’s spent coaching the Texas A&M Aggies, while he’d previously coached the Florida State Seminoles, leading them to win the 2014 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) National Championship Game.

Education and early life

Jimbo was raised alongside his brother Bryan in Clarksburg, by their father John James Fisher and mother Gloria; Jimbo’s kept other details about his family to himself, because he respects their privacy.

He became interested in football while attending North View Junior High School; Jimbo eventually progressed to and played for Liberty High School, and became one of the best players there. A couple of other activities in which Jimbo enjoyed taking part included acting, dancing and playing baseball.

He matriculated in 1984, and then enrolled at Clemson University on a baseball scholarship; he transferred to Salem College, and then eventually to Samford University, where he played football for the Samford Bulldogs, and was named Division III National Player of the Year. Jimbo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1988.

Jimbo’s career

Jimbo spent the year 1988 playing for the Chicago Bruisers of the Arena Football League (AFL), and from 1988 through 1990 worked at Samford as a quarterbacks assistant coach. After showing great coaching skills, Jimbo was hired as a full-time quarterbacks coach and offensive co-ordinator.

From 1990 through 1992, he worked at Auburn University as their quarterbacks coach under head coach Terry Bowden, and only left Auburn after Terry resigned and was replaced by Tommy Tuberville in 1998. He then spent a year serving as the offensive co-ordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Cincinnati, while the year 2000 saw him join the Louisiana State University (LSU); Jimbo helped develop several quarterbacks during his time at LSU, including JaMarcus Russell, Matt Mauck and Rohan Davey.

Jimbo chose to try and become a head coach in the mid-2000s, and was interviewed for the position at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006; the university’s Board of Trustees vetoed his contract offer for unknown reasons. He was then invited to join the University of Alabama’s coaching staff, but instead joined Florida State University as their quarterbacks coach and offensive co-ordinator, replacing coach Jeff Bowden. Jimbo was named ‘head coach in waiting’ after his first year at Florida State, and then signed a $600,000 per year contract; Florida State also promised to pay Jimbo $5 million if he wasn’t promoted to head coach by the end of 2010. After the late American college football coach Robert Cleckler ‘Bobby’ Bowden retired from being the head coach at the university, Jimbo took over the position on 5 January 2010; at a press conference two days later, he revealed that his goal was to make big changes in the team, and announced his coaching staff.

During his first year with the Seminoles, Jimbo led the team to win 10 games in the season, the first time since 2003 and second since 2000; they defeated their in-state rivals the Florida Gators and the Miami Hurricanes, and reached the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl game, defeating South Carolina.

The Seminoles finished their 2011 season with nine wins and four defeats, and once again defeated both the Gators and the Hurricanes; they also won the Champs Sports Bowl by defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The year 2012 saw them win their first conference title in seven years, when they reached the Orange Bowl and defeated the Northern Illinois Huskies; they were undefeated in the 2013 season, and then had two undefeated seasons in a row.

The Seminoles lost in the Rose Bowl to the Oregon Ducks 59-20, and had the record 10-3 in both of the two following seasons. The team’s performance declined in the years following their 2014 BCS National Championship win, and Jimbo resigned as the Seminoles’ head coach on 1 December 2017.

He accepted the same position at Texas A&M University, and signed a $75 million 10-year contract with the A&M Aggies. They recorded 9-4 in their first season under Jimbo, and won against the NC State Wolfpack at the 2018 Gator Bowl; they then won against the Oklahoma State Athletics at the 2019 Texas Bowl, and finished their 2020 season with the 9-1 record.

Jimbo signed a new contract with the Aggies in December 2021, earning $9 million a year; his 2022 season was the worst that he had with the Aggies, as they won only three of their first nine games.

Love life and wife

Jimbo’s married twice, but rarely speaks about his love life in public. His first wife was Candi Fisher; the two married in 1989 and divorced in 2015, having two sons together, Trey and Ethan; Ethan was diagnosed with the rare genetic disease Fanconi anemia in 2011, and this led to Jimbo and Candi to found the charity organization Kidz1stFund. Trey followed in his father’s footsteps and played football at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Jimbo married his second wife, American non-celebrity Courtney Harrison Fisher in 2020, and they’re today living in College Station, Texas; he’s the stepfather of Courtney’s son Keller from a previous marriage/relationship.

Who is Matt Leinart?

American former professional Football Player Matthew Stephen ‘Matt’ Leinart was born in Santa Ana, California USA, on 11 May 1983, making Taurus his zodiac sign. He spent seven seasons playing in the National Football League (NFL), but is perhaps still known best for having won the prestigious Heisman Trophy while playing college football.

Education and early life

Matt was raised in Santa Ana alongside his brother Ryan Leinart, by their parents Linda and Bob Leinart about whom not many details have been disclosed, as they prefer to stay away from media.

He was born with strabismus – aka ‘crossed eyes’ – as his left eye wasn’t correctly aligned with the right; Matt was three when he underwent corrective surgery, and had to wear special glasses. He’s revealed that he was bullied at school because of the glasses, and that the children were very cruel.

Matt found comfort in sports, and began playing both basketball and football upon enrolling at Mater Dei High School. During his third year there, he led his football team to the California Interscholastic Federation Division I Championship, and was named California High School Player of the Year by Gatorade; Matt was also named Serra League’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

He matriculated in 2001 and was offered scholarships by a number of colleges, while he chose to enroll at University of Southern California (USC).

College football

Matt was redshirted in 2001, and joined the USC Trojans as their freshman quarterback in 2002; he played in only a couple of games and didn’t throw any passes.

He only became a starting quarterback in 2003, and his first pass was a touchdown in a game against Auburn, which the Trojans won 23-0. They finished the season with 11 wins and one defeat, and faced the University of Michigan in the Rose Bowl; the Trojans won, and Matt was named the Rose Bowl MVP.

He began his junior season with the Trojans by winning their first four games, and won the season’s Heisman Trophy; he also played in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma, which the Trojans won 55-19, while Matt was named Orange Bowl MVP.

https://twitter.com/Damiere_/status/1662981364969357313

The Trojans won all of their 12 games in the 2005 season, but then lost to the Texas Longhorns in the Rose Bowl.

Matt graduated from USC in 2006 and finished his college career by completing 807 of his 1,245 passes, 99 of which ended in touchdowns.

NFL

It was widely believed that Matt would forgo his senior year and make himself eligible for the 2005 NFL Draft, however, he chose to stay at USC; he was still considered one of the top prospects, and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2006 NFL Draft, signing a $51 million six-year contract on 14 August.

He spent four years playing for the Cardinals, but was mostly a backup for the now-retired professional Football Player Kurtis Eugene Warner. Matt became a starter in the fourth game of the 2006 season, and set a record for rookie passing yards (405) on 26 November, when the Cardinals lost to the Minnesota Vikings; he finished the 2006 season with a 4-7 record.

He was a starter from the first 2007 game, but then suffered a serious injury on 7 October 2007, after Will Witherspoon of the St. Louis Rams fractured Matt’s left collarbone; the injury marked the end of the season for him.

As soon as he recovered during the 2008 offseason, Matt was made a starter again, however, Kurtis Warner was eventually made a starter instead of Matt, and he took the Cardinals to their first Super Bowl; Kurtis retired in 2010 and Matt was made a starter, but was then released by the Cardinals on 4 September, because of poor play.

He signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans on 6 September 2010, and was only made a starter in the following year, however, Matt suffered another season-ending injury, and was released by the team on 12 March 2012.

He played for the Oakland Raiders in 2012 and the Buffalo Bills in 2013, however, after being released by the Bills on 30 August 2013, Matt retired from professional football.

In 2017, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, and is today working as an analyst for Fox Sports 1.

Love life and marriage

Matt shies away from sharing the details of his love life with his fans, but it’s known that he’s today both a husband and a father. He was in a relationship with former USC basketball player Brynn Cameron while attending college; she gave birth to their son, but the two had already split a couple of months before that. It’s believed that Matt was still highly involved in the boy’s upbringing, although this remains unconfirmed.

He’s today married to American lawyer and former actress Josie Loren Lopez; the two exchanged vows in May 2018, and she gave birth to their son in January 2020, while their second son followed in May 2021.

Matt’s yet to mention other women whom he’s perhaps dated, he’s married to Josie Loren Lopez as of May 2023 and they have two sons together, while he also has a son with former girlfriend Brynn Cameron.
